Shade Systems™ ‘Sails’ protect Milwaukee Zoo’s stage
Even in Milwaukee, the summers can be brutally hot. The management at the City’s zoo recognized this problem, particularly at their animal performance stage where actors and their performing animals were suffering under the intense heat.
To solve the problem, management looked to Shade Systems to design a series of of its innovative ‘Sails’ which are engineered to attach at each point with a single stainless steel connection. All cables and hardware are also stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance and longevity.
Now with the Sail canopies in place, the stage and spectator seating areas are comfortable, since the new Shade Systems CoolNet™ fabric canopies screen up to 99% of the sun’s dangerous U.V. rays, and can lower temperatures by 15-20 degrees!
Additionally, a Single Cantilever shade was included to shade portions of the bleachers. Because Single Cantilevers are engineered with their support columns cleverly located to the back side, they allow unobstructed viewing for guests.
