Miami-Dade County chooses Shade Systems^™ to shade exercise courts

Miami-Dade County in Florida operates one of the largest park systems in the country, and their Park Department’s landscape architecture staff has an ongoing program of providing shade covers in public areas to reduce the occurrence of dangerous sun exposure for its residents.

For the past 10 years, Shade Systems is proud to be the County’s vendor of choice when it comes to shading Miami-Dade’s public spaces, having provided countless Shade Systems structures throughout the County’s sprawling parks system.  County staff continually cites Shade Systems’ dedication to product quality, its high level of service, and crucial features such as its Turn-N-Slide™ easy canopy fastening system as reasons to repeatedly choose Shade Systems.

Of late, the County’s design staff has begun building outdoor fitness courts to encourage exercise for its residents, and they have looked no further than Shade Systems to provide the protective canopies over the exercise equipment.

North Trail Park (top left) has received Shade Systems’ innovative Multi-Level ‘Sail’ system, featuring imaginatively layered canopies, while the newest installation, Gwen Cherry Park (center left), has received a Mega Span with its metals powder-coated with a custom “galvanized” look coating.  The lower left photo shows a close-up of the remarkable Turn-N-Slide™ easy canopy fastening system built right into the heavy rafters of the Mega Span.  The Turn-N-Slide™ is essential to County staff when a hurricane threatens and the canopy has to be taken down, as it makes canopy removal and re-attachment a breeze!  Watch the video to see how it works.
