Imaginative ‘Sails’ Are Used to Shade Bleachers at Seven Oaks Park

When the Irmo-Chapin Parks and Recreation Commission in Columbia, South Carolina and its consulting landscape architects, Ken Simmons & Associates, were looking for an imaginative way to provide cooling shade at the Seven Oaks Park ballfield bleachers, the decision to select Shade Systems™ was easy.

With a long history of designing, engineering, and manufacturing aesthetically-pleasing shade solutions nationwide, Shade Systems developed the imaginative shade structures shown to provide the needed protection from the sun’s dangerous U.V. rays, while creating an eye-catching focal point at this popular park.

The Seven Oaks Park shade canopies incorporate Shade Systems’ innovative ‘Sails’ which are engineered to attach at each point with a single stainless steel connection.  All cables and hardware are also stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance and longevity.

This project was designed and sold with the assistance of the Shade Systems product representatives in South Carolina, Churchich Recreation.
